If the thought of being photographed makes you tense up, you're not alone.
Maybe you feel awkward as soon as a camera is pointed at you. Perhaps you're worried you'll look stiff, won't know what to do, or that your nerves will show in the photographs.
And when it's your wedding day, the last thing you want is to spend it wondering how you look, waiting for the next photograph or feeling like you're performing for the camera.
You want to be able to enjoy the day with the person you're marrying — and still have photographs you'll love looking back on.
You don't need to change who you are. Your photography just needs to work differently.
When you stop thinking about the camera, something changes.
The Real You Transformation
You don't need to learn how to pose, become confident in front of a camera or pretend you're someone you're not.
Instead, your photography is built around you — how you interact, how you laugh, how you naturally spend time together and what makes your relationship yours.

I'll give you just enough direction to help you know what to do, then let things unfold naturally. As you become more comfortable, the camera becomes less important and you can start to forget about being photographed altogether.
And that's when something changes.
The nervous smiles disappear. The forced poses disappear. What's left is you — the laughter, the emotion, the connection and all those little moments that make your relationship yours.

Kind words
"It was clear to us that we needed to be told where to stand, where to look and what to do!
We were a challenge which Simon embraced!"
— Rebecca Chapman
You can enjoy your day knowing you're in safe hands.
Weddings rarely go exactly to plan.
The weather changes. Timings slip. Someone gets emotional. Something unexpected happens.
After 18 years of photographing weddings, I've learned to anticipate those moments, adapt when things change and stay one step ahead — often without you even noticing.
My aim is simple: for you to enjoy your wedding knowing that your photographs are being taken care of.
I'm Simon, and after 18 years behind the camera, I've become pretty good at knowing when to step in, when to step back and, perhaps most importantly, when to let you get on with enjoying yourselves.
You won't need to spend the day wondering where I am or whether I've captured what's happening — I'll be watching, anticipating and making sure I'm there when it matters.

Photographs that feel like you
No two couples are the same, so your photographs shouldn't be either.
I'm not interested in making every wedding look like a photoshoot. Your photographs should reflect the two of you — the way you interact, the things that make you laugh, the people you love and all the little moments that make your wedding yours.
From the big emotional moments to the ridiculous little ones, I'll capture the story of your day as it actually happened, so when you look back, you don't just remember what it looked like — you remember how it felt.

Choose how much of your story you want to capture
Every wedding is different, so I've kept things simple.
Three options based on how much of your day you'd like me to be there for — with the same care and experience whichever you choose.
Every package includes your planning support, engagement shoot, inspiration guides, online gallery, downloads and USB archive.
Albums, private image rights and a photo booth are also available.
Your venue. Your wedding. Your story.
Whether you're getting married in a Portsmouth hotel, a country house in Hampshire or somewhere a little further afield, your venue is part of what makes your wedding yours
.
I'll take the time to understand the spaces you're getting married in, spot the opportunities as they happen and make the most of what your venue has to offer — without turning your day into a tour of the best photography spots.
So you can enjoy your venue, your people and your day, while I take care of the photographs

Want to feel more confident in front of the camera?
If you're not naturally comfortable being photographed, you're certainly not alone. I've put together a short guide to help you understand why it can feel awkward — and what you can do to make it easier.
Relaxed, Real & Unposed covers some simple ways to feel more comfortable in your wedding photographs, without asking you to become a different person or learn how to pose.
It's a quick, reassuring read to help you feel a little more prepared for the camera — without adding another job to your wedding planning.
If you're looking for someone who understands that being photographed doesn't come naturally, and who'll help you feel comfortable enough to enjoy your day and love your photographs, I'd love to hear about your plans.
We can have a relaxed chat about your wedding, what matters to you and anything you're unsure about. I'll answer your questions, share some ideas if they're useful, and you can decide whether I'm the right photographer for you.
There's no pressure, no sales script and no obligation to book.
Just a chance to talk and see where it goes.
